The Service Manager, with the support and alignment of the Store Manager, is responsible for all aspects of cash and front end processes in their store. You are accountable for ensuring that the store consistently produces a “GREAT” Customer Experience and administer the POS system, surplus area and clothing departments in accordance with company guidelines and programs.
•Provide a “GREAT” customer experience by embracing and following the “GREAT” program and completing all training. This includes greeting every customer, asking for the “deal of the day” and “if they found everything they were looking for” and thank the customer.
•Maintain store standards according to the documented store standards book.
•When you are the manager on duty, perform store walk (inspection) to ensure the store is ready for business per the store standards and policies that are in place.
•Understand and comply with all HR and health and safety policies and procedures that are available on the Intranet and Internet.
•Maintain a safe and healthy workplace at all times by following TSC’s health and safety program and completing all training.
•Ensure full compliance on all back office processes and money handling procedures by all staff.
•When you are the manager on duty, protect company assets and ensure security of the premises by following the loss prevention programs, utilizing all tools/equipment provided, and respond to alarm calls.
•Responsible for the back office, end of day book keeping procedures and audits per the policies and procedures.
•Ensure full compliance of ink tag and/or sensormatic standards in the clothing department per the Loss Prevention standards and programs. All Loss Prevention audits are reviewed with the store manager and emailed to the LP Manager.
•Provide backup to Store Manager for payroll submission by following and executing payroll responsibilities by submitting proper paperwork, authorizing employee hours and meeting deadlines.
•Responsible for training of cashiers to ensure understanding and compliance with company policies and procedures as well as government regulatory requirements.
•Check and order all store supplies.
•Ensure presentation, organization and merchandising of the surplus section is well executed per company standards and the MAP.
•Monitor cash registers throughout the day to ensure that line-ups at cash registers are minimized to no more than 3 customers. Respond immediately when cashier pages for additional backup to avoid customer waiting times.
•Maintenance of all store signage in the clothing department and entrance and replacing when needed.
•Coordinate with Sales Manager to introduce new product lines and seasonal changes per store standards and MAP.
•Coach, mentor, train, delegate and succession plan cashiers through orientation sessions, feedback and communication.
•Promote TSC within the community by participating in local events and support local charities.
•Other duties as assigned.
•Management retail experience
•High School Diploma or Post-secondary education in Business would be an asset
•GREAT customer service skills
•Demonstrated leadership skills including coaching, training, recruiting and communication
•Strong computer skills (POS, MS Office, Outlook)
